Maybe you don't know because we haven't told you or maybe you don't know because you haven't seen it... but we are absolutely head over in heels in love with boudoir.
but we were in a rut.. we wanted to shoot something that was real, raw, and meant something to us. actually.. we were past the point of "want" and on the edge of "necessity". We needed to shake things up.
One day Hannah called me and told me about this idea she had. An outdoor boudoir shoot, an iron headboard, heavy makeup, big hair, super grungy. Now we just needed a model. Someone who would trust us and do whatever our little hearts desired.
We've known Liz for about 5 years now. We have shared happiness and heartaches. We were there to hold each other's newborn babies. We have experienced failures and triumphs. Through all the changes we have faced, we have had each other. Our little Trio.
When we asked Liz to model for us she declined, claiming she wouldn't be any good at it. but the next day she called, sighed, and said as long as she could wear her Nirvana shirt we were good to go :)
The best part about these shoots is empowering women. I know that sounds super cheesy! but I don't know how else to put it. making women feel good about themselves... finding their beauty, drawing it out, and capturing it so they can see what we see is just about the most rewarding thing.
And it's amazing how one shoot can completely rejuvenate, energize, and change you. Seriously... I've been riding the natural high from this shoot since Saturday...
anyway... I don't remember the last time I have written this much. so I'll just get on with things and move on to the good stuff :)
this black and white looks like it could be on the cover of an album
This next one is one of my new favorites! Seriously Liz, you are stunning!
Also a new favorite :)
Liz- thank you for letting us talk you into this! thank you for being so unbelievably easy to direct. thank you for trusting us. thank you for supporting us. you are beautiful! love you!
