Making friends. Meeting people. When did it get awkward? I seriously get anxious at the very thought of trying to make a new friend. I guess you could say it's just not really my "thing".
The hubs and I have been here for a year. And I haven't made any friends. Unless you count Chef Lazslo. The crazy drunk European man I met at the grocery store, who showed me which root vegetables to use in my soup.
Jenna is a fellow photog and also has a kick ass blog. a while back she reached out to us. asking to be... wait for it... friends. yup. I really couldn't believe it. Jenna is talented and sweet and outgoing. and I'm well... self conscience and pessimistic and an introvert. but then I thought "hey. what the hell?"
So last night Hannah and I showed up at Jenna and Drew's home. Jenna welcomed us with smiles and hugs the moment we got there. and seriously from the moment we got there it was just comfortable. It wasn't awkward or stressful. We didn't struggle to find things to talk about. It was amazing. Jenna and Drew were so incredibly sweet. and warm. and funny. and did I mention adorable? and they are real. you can tell even when they are being all lovey. they aren't faking it. they just love each other.
I like hands...
and i like being in people's homes..
gahhh! seriously! they are so freaking adorable!
this is Jenna and Drew's baby... her name is Chloe... they have good taste in names ;)
and feet... i like feet too
did I mention they shared their wine???
this shoot refreshed me. it reminded me why I do what I do. it's easy to feel worn down when you are running on no sleep and your eyes are burning from staring at your computer for hours and you are missing your husband because you're both traveling for work. but then. then there is a couple like this. who laugh and play and love. and they do something sweet without direction. and the light is just right. and it makes your world spin.
Drew- thank you for being fun. thank you for being patient while us three girls talked shop. thank you for being one of those guys that makes our job easy.
