weather changes moods, spring is here again...

Maybe you don't know because we haven't told you or maybe you don't know because you haven't seen it... but we are absolutely head over in heels in love with boudoir.

but we were in a rut.. we wanted to shoot something that was real, raw, and meant something to us. actually.. we were past the point of "want" and on the edge of "necessity". We needed to shake things up.
One day Hannah called me and told me about this idea she had. An outdoor boudoir shoot, an iron headboard, heavy makeup, big hair, super grungy. Now we just needed a model. Someone who would trust us and do whatever our little hearts desired.

We've known Liz for about 5 years now. We have shared happiness and heartaches. We were there to hold each other's newborn babies. We have experienced failures and triumphs. Through all the changes we have faced, we have had each other. Our little Trio.

When we asked Liz to model for us she declined, claiming she wouldn't be any good at it. but the next day she called, sighed, and said as long as she could wear her Nirvana shirt we were good to go :)

The best part about these shoots is empowering women. I know that sounds super cheesy! but I don't know how else to put it. making women feel good about themselves... finding their beauty, drawing it out, and capturing it so they can see what we see is just about the most rewarding thing.
And it's amazing how one shoot can completely rejuvenate, energize, and change you. Seriously... I've been riding the natural high from this shoot since Saturday...

anyway... I don't remember the last time I have written this much. so I'll just get on with things and move on to the good stuff :)

this black and white looks like it could be on the cover of an album

This next one is one of my new favorites! Seriously Liz, you are stunning!

Also a new favorite :)

Liz- thank you for letting us talk you into this! thank you for being so unbelievably easy to direct. thank you for trusting us. thank you for supporting us. you are beautiful! love you!

Catherine & Troy- Engaged

Catie is one of our oldest friends. Our Grandmothers were friends. Our Mothers were friends. We grew up together. Spending our summers swimming at the lake and running around in the woods behind her house.
Catie and Troy are high school sweethearts. They have been together for what seems like always. When Troy finally popped the question at Christmas time we were beyond thrilled for them! and we couldn't be more excited to be capturing their big day! We absolutely adore these two. They are so laid back and fun to be around and super good looking ;)

I'm not sure if anyone else who knows her will agree or not. But when I first started reading The Hunger Games, I couldn't help but picture Catie as Katniss. She is dark, fierce, and beautiful and pretty good with a bow too :)

This is Muzzy! :)

Uggghhh! I think the one above and the one below are my favorites

Catie's mom made this sign :)

Seniors...

The first time I (Chloe) got an inquiry to do a senior shoot I wasn't sure I would like it.
I was convinced I only wanted to shoot couples.
Little did I know the obsession I was about to unleash.

I love seniors! They have style. They know how to work it. They love having their picture taken. And oh my goodness they are so much fun to be around!

Class of 2012- What can we say? We adore you. You went above and beyond any of our expectations. Thank you sooo so much for helping to fuel our dream. May all of yours come true.

Here are some of our all time favorites.

Last year was our first of shooting seniors and let's just say the class of 2012 really set the bar for all the future seniors. So we're pretty excited to see how the class of 2013 plans on topping last year :) we can't wait to start shooting seniors again and we have some big ideas for this year. so get ahold of us if you want something different. lifetreephotography@gmail.com
