most of you are probably aware that October is breast cancer awareness month. you are probably receiving secretive facebook messages telling you to post a silly status or put hearts on each others walls in order to bring awareness. or maybe you're even walking or running or buying pink clothing and pink accessories. well every year about this time i think to myself i should do something. i always feel like i could do more.
we all know someone. or we know someone who knows someone. i think about my dear sister in law who lost her mother. and my great aunt who beat it. and my heart breaks for them. there is literally a pain in my chest and a knot in my stomach. and then i look at them and how they live. and i am amazed. like knock me off my feet. take my breath away. amazed. they love without reservation. they give without expecting anything in return. and then i'm inspired.
so i want to give something. to the women who are fighting or who have survived breast cancer. i know it won't make them better. i know it isn't going to prevent breast cancer. i know it's not going to help find a cure. i'm not trying to do those things. i simply want to give them something to celebrate their lives. to not make them feel normal, but to make them feel special and beautiful and strong.
i want to tell their story.
so here's the deal. i could go out and hunt down some women. but i want to make this a group effort. i said we all know someone or know someone who knows someone. so i need you to do something for me. find that someone you know that has fought or is fighting and give them the gift of a boudoir shoot with me. it's free. no strings attached. but how much more special would it be coming from a loved one, a friend, a family member? if you want to buy a voucher for them to be able to get an album or some prints made that's awesome! we'll give you a voucher. if not i promise that just the experience will great.
so go out and find someone. then give us a call or e-mail us at lifetreephotography@gmail.com in the next 3 weeks to book something.
we're in this business to tell stories. help us tell one that means something.
You move me with your heartfelt love of others. I love you, my special little girl. Thanks for making the women who have suffered greatly feel so beautiful and special. Now, I will be sending you a pm, but I think you already know what I'm going to say.
