So here we go... the cliche end of the year blog post...

seriously though.. I didn't really have anything prepared and I thought about showing you my favorites from this season but I decided I would do another personal post. 

 This year I took things a little slower. made time for myself. read a bunch of books and listened to music and spent time with friends, the kiddo, and the hubs. I feel like this year was a transitional year for me. in business and my personal life. anyway no need to get all cheesy and sentimental. here's a little look into what I did in my free time this year.

Inspired

i don't normally get all personal on the blog. but today i feel like bragging a little bit. this is my kid. she inspires me so much. she is a crazy amazing little model. she is smart. like knows more about dinosaurs than i do smart. she is funny. like super hilarious. she says stuff like "well there goes the neighborhood" and when someone says the word "scat" she comes back with "scat a lat a bee bop". she is super cool. like she jams out to the rolling stones and of monsters and men with me. she loves stuff like spiderman and cars and dinos and the guitar and the zombies from paranorman. i know all kids are special. but this kid. my kid. she's something else. she inspires more than anything or anyone else. 

did i mention she has like the best hair ever?

when i asked her what she wanted to be for halloween she said "an old black river cat"

these next few we took this afternoon after she told me she wants to be a rock star

Ashley + Ryan

I can not believe wedding season is over! I mean really. I can't. Because (I'm about to be pretty honest here. so brace yourself) usually by the time wedding season starts to wind down I feel burnt out. and weary. and uninspired. and just plain crabby. It's not that I don't love it. It's just draining. no free weekends. hearing the exact same playlist at 15 different receptions. all the hours in front of my computer. it gets to be a lot. 

So when Ashley and Ryan's big day came around I was ready to rock and roll. mostly because I could see the light at the end of the "2012 Wedding Season" tunnel. and I was oh so ready to drink a celebratory beer, take a bath, and sleep for a good 12 hours. 

And then the day got started. Ashley and Ryan's excitement and happiness was so genuine that it started to rub off on us. Their wedding party took direction, never complained, and joked with us all day. All of the details Ashley put together were gorgeous. This day. oh this day. I seriously can't even find the words to describe what it did for us. I normally start dreaming about crawling into bed when dancing starts. but when Ryan and Ashley hugged me tight at the end of the night I was sad to leave. I wanted to stay and dance the night away with them and their wedding party. We left that night with a wedding-high. These two refreshed us, and inspired us, and let's just say if we had a top 5 favorite couples list... well they would rank pretty high.

Seriously though... this wedding party. this giant wedding party. it is my favorite.

Ashley & Ryan really wanted a different backdrop for their photos. and needless to say I am in LOOOVE!

Ryan & Ashley- thank you thank you thank you! from the bottom of our little black hearts. this day was exactly what we needed. yes we loved your details, the locations, and how photogenic you were. but we love even more how we feel like old friends now. (like seriously let's hang out!) you trusted us completely and made us feel like you actually wanted us there and not just our cameras. honestly, you two are way sweet! and we couldn't be happier to finish off this year documenting your love. you guys are the best! we are wishing all the happiness in the world for you two and little Elijah :) xoxoxo
